This set of puzzles was inspired by the writings of Henry Petroski, who has written some wonderfully entertaining and thought provoking books about the invention of everyday objects. Clip Joints looks at paper clips, from his book Invention by Design. See My Point? From Petroski's book The Pencil. I embellished the original puzzle a bit, adding an extra mistake. Accidental Inventions. On a trip to a science museum I found the book Accidents May Happen, a book for kids about how many inventions started from accidents. Irresistable reading. I did some research on other such books and also used They All Laughed as a source. |
